Meet your team.
Our team
Owner, Therapist
Katie Ross-McGinnis, LPC
My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I work with individuals across the lifespan, supporting clients as they navigate anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, relationship challenges, life transitions, and periods of feeling disconnected from themselves.
I believe therapy should be a space where all parts of you are welcome. My role is to walk alongside you, offering tools, perspective, and a supportive therapeutic relationship that encourages meaningful and lasting change. I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my work, helping clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, confidence, and connection to themselves.
I also have a particular passion for working with athletes, both equine and non-equine. As someone who has been competing in equine sports since the age of five, I understand the unique pressures that come with competition—the preparation, expectations, performance anxiety, setbacks, self-doubt, and the challenge of balancing who you are with how you perform. I bring that lived experience together with my mental health training to support athletes in managing pressure, building confidence, recovering from disappointment, and developing a healthier relationship with performance.
I strive to meet each client where they are. My goal is to create a space where you can better understand yourself, develop practical skills, explore what is underneath the challenges you're experiencing, and move toward a life that feels more connected, grounded, and authentically your own.
Canine Friends
Captain and Thor are the beloved four-legged friends of Above It All Counseling Group (AIACG), offering warmth, emotional support, and the kind of joy that only a wagging tail can bring. These gentle pups are more than just therapy dogs—they're true companions on the healing journey.
Having faced their own challenging start during the first year and a half of their lives, Captain and Thor understand what it means to navigate big feelings and complex emotions. Because of their resilience, they bring empathy, comfort, and lighthearted energy to every session, helping clients feel seen, safe, and supported.
When they're not at work bringing smiles and comfort, you can find them snuggled up for a cozy nap or out on a favorite hiking trail soaking in the sunshine. Captain and Thor remind us that healing often begins with connection—and sometimes, that connection has fur and four paws.
